A home always has to be tailored to our needs, or, at least, with the necessary incentives so that we can live as well as possible according to our reality. That’s why celebrities need a home away from the media world that engulfs them every day. Leonardo DiCaprio, a neat and mediatic actor where they exist, has bought a new Spanish-style house for the modest amount of 7.1 million dollars, about 5.84 euros.

It is a generous Spanish colonial-style mansion, one of those that have survived the passing of the years, adapting and adapting to each new tenant with regal joy.

The house is located in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles (of course, close to work), and it belonged to the actor of “Modern Family”, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and her husband, Justin Mikita. According to the American press, the residence was acquired by DiCaprio for her mother, Irmelin Indenbirken, so, in addition to having good taste, he is a model son (if you have a son, you know, set him as an example).

Ferguson, the seller, bought the building eight years ago, paying 4.5 million euros (3.7 euros) for it. Something that makes this real estate transaction a success. The property has a 2,000 square meter plot on a hillside and the property was built in 1928, with a surface area of 464 square meters distributed over two floors, with four bedrooms and five bathrooms.

A semicircle staircase welcomes you to the house

As in houses of a certain style, the facade does not face the street, it is located at the end of a path of leafy trees, on a slope, allowing you to make the most of the views. The building has a garage for three vehicles, at a lower level than the house, and with internal access to it (of course).

Leonardo DiCaprio’s Spanish-style house is simply spectacular. A luxury for the senses, cozy and practical, but keeping that wonderful colonial aesthetic that characterized an era. It has traditional multi-pitched tile roofs, a configuration that leaves terraces at various points, where you can place furniture to enjoy the pleasant Californian climate, traditional ceramic pavements and iconic colored tiles.

Behind the sturdy front door, we are greeted by a wonderful semi-circular staircase, with original ceramic treads and wrought-iron railings with floral motifs. An entrance space is unique and spectacular at the same time with stone walls, wooden ceilings, octagonal tiled floors… and two armchairs, we suppose to enjoy such beauty.

The interior, cozy and practical

Inside, the house is distributed through arches. Thus, behind one is the kitchen, equipped with custom furniture and appliances, with windows on two facades, an elegant wooden table for breakfast and wooden flooring. Behind another arch, a double-height living room, which includes an interior balcony and some very comfortable sofas for having tea with visitors.

Another living room has a more informal feel; with sofas in front of a fireplace, direct access to a chill out and, of course, a multimedia room. A space to enjoy good (and bad) cinema with a good sound system and automatic blackout curtains; that are displayed according to the needs of the spectators. The room also has access to the outside and communicates with a gym.

Of course, the bathrooms also have arches. At the entrance doors or in the huge bathtubs, with the rustic atmosphere that they deserve to be immersed in the colonial style; with wooden furniture and small white ceramics (very subway). And, since eating is very important, nothing like a spectacular dining room for the task: with ornate wooden ceiling and blue curtains, to match the walls.

Gwen Stefani also lived there

The first celebrity to occupy the house was Gwen Stefani, singer and leader of the group No Doubt. It was she who began to make important improvements to the house, such as the construction of the swimming pool in the back. This is hidden between the house and a completely tiled wall, with grayish tones and earth-colored edges. And above the pool, as if anything, a spa that, surely, has been the axis of great moments.

The configuration of the home allows for a multitude of balconies, windows and doors, as well as different terraces for the enjoyment of each space. In addition, at different heights, being able to enjoy views of the city, the sea or the nearby Griffith Park. A lounge with a grand piano, a yoga room, a separate bathroom near the pool, waterfalls, outdoor fireplaces… No, definitely, you can’t say that DiCaprio doesn’t know how to buy a mansion.
